Original late-1850s tintype photo, little boy holding his clown toy.. looks like possibly Punch from the famous "Punch and Judy" series. In the close-up, notice how the toy's face is doubled.. I wonder if that was because he was wound up and clapping his cymbals, causing him to move?
The tintype is housed in a sixth-plate, 1860s photo case that measures 3.75" x 3.25" closed. It is behind glass and appears to be in excellent antique condition overall.
