Original late-1850s sixth-plate ambrotype of a man wearing a large tie and checked (work) shirt? He has light eyes and tinted pink lips. Housed in its original thermoplastic hard case, behind glass and heavy brass mat.
The ambrotype and case are in overall very good antique condition. A few spots as shown but the image is stable, not flaking or anything. Case has one or two tiny edge chips but is very nice overall, except the velvet pad is loose.
