Two 1/6 plate daguerreotypes, taken maybe 6 months apart, of Janet Tillotson Montgomery Floyd (1847-1925), daughter of the Reverend Henry Montgomery and Augusta Lynch of Philadelphia. The dag of the younger Janet has her ID - a sticker on the glass ... In the portrait of the older Janet, her bows and little flowers on the tablecloth have been tinted a light pink, and Van Loan's imprint is on the velvet pad. The family moved to New York in the second half of the 1850s, but since the older dag was taken in Philad, I assume the younger one probably was as well.
