Original CDV of Stokes. Edward Stokes was a business associate of “Big Jim” Fisk who had a mistress named Josie Mansfield. Stokes wooed her away from Fisk, and the pair later tried to extort money from Fisk. Failing that, Stokes shot Fisk and killed him.
