Original CDV, showing houses or commercial buildings along the bank of a river or brook. This might be St. Albans, Vermont (see below). During the Civil War there was a Confederate raid there, maybe this photo is somehow related...?
Dimensions are 4" x 2.5", the back is blank, as produced, with a couple of light foxing/age spots, nothing serious... so no photographer, but based on the other photos acquired in this collection, it was almost certainly taken in either Champlain, New York or more likely (~75%), in St. Albans.
Very good antique condition overall.
