Original ninth-plate tintype of a little girl.. looking a bit intimidated by the camera, I think. She has tinted cheeks, and I think the tablecloth has some tinting as well. Behind the case were the cut up pieces of period newspaper one part showing a date of 1863. I think their purpose was just to keep the tintype from sinking down too deep into the case, but who knows. I put them back inside of the case, so they are included.
The tintype is in very good or better antique condition.. it's behind mat but there is NO GLASS. The case covers are separated but matching.
