Sixth-plate ambrotype of a sad looking teenage girl wearing a black (velvet?) mourning dress and painted gold jewelry. She was almost certainly a member of the Anderson Morton family of Okolona, Mississippi and Charlotte County, Virginia, possibly a daughter of Anderson Morton himself. She is NOT ID'd but I am basing my info on other identified photos purchased with her ambrotype in a small lot out of a Mississippi estate.

Clear glass ambrotype behind mat and cover glass. Still with its original seals intact! Right now there is also a piece of dark, slightly wavy and shiny paper in the case behind the image... if you have a solid black, piece of velvet or paper to put in the case instead, the image will probably look even nicer.

Condition is very good or better. Some white debris specks are visible, either trapped under the glass or stuck to the black paper inside of the case and showing through. Looks nice and bright under proper lighting!
