Two original, mid-1860s photos of men by J.H. Blakemore, a CDV of a bearded man holding a book in his lap, and a tintype of a second man, also holding a book in one hand, and with some unidentified objects in his jacket pocket.. they almost look like small drumsticks! This man also has painted gold buttons and watch chain. See the zoom view.

The studio imprint on the back of the tintype is a little broken up, but I can definitely make out "J.H. Blakemore, Photographer" and "Va.".. the city is harder to read... it might start with an L and end in a Y. .. Lee City, Va?

Blakemore had studios that I know of in Richmond and Staunton, Virginia around the time of the Civil War, and Mt. Airy, North Carolina from the late-1860s on. Both image mounts are 4" x 2.5" and both are in very good antique condition.
