Ninth-plate 1850s daguerreotype of a teenage girl in full case. Behind the image is a folded up letter from her teacher Lucy Eaton, which also identifies the girl in the dag as Miss Clara E. Lee. The letter appears to be a personalized "end of the year" type letter that a teacher in a very small classroom would write to each of her students.. a really neat find.
The dag is unsealed with tarnish and some minor condition issues, which should show up in my scans. The case covers are separated along the spine. |
