1/6 daguerreotype of a young man seated next to a table with books. He's wearing a painted gold ring and his lips are light pink. Unidentified, purchased from a seller in Massachusetts, and the dag was wrapped in old newspaper from Boston.
Uncased, as found, but the original seals are still intact and the image looks to be completely undamaged... I examined it pretty carefully and it appears that all of the specks, spots and haze are on the underside of the glass, which I did not want to clean because of the intact seals.
