Sixth-plate daguerreotype of a handsome man with styled hair and a goatee. The eye on the left looks like it sustained some type of injury (or maybe just a lazy eye).
He's not identified, but he was acquired along with two other dags of men wearing hoop earrings - sailors or sea captains, I assume - so although I don't see any on this man, but his long hair covers his ears. In any case, it's at least a possibility he was in the same industry or occupation as they were.
The dag still has its original unbroken seals. It's in a full leather case with separated covers. The underside of the glass VERY DIRTY, however, you can see that underneath the dag is sharp and clear; if you wanted to open the seals the glass is cleanable and it would be a dramatic improvement. The only issues to the plate of note is the haze or tarnish seen in my scan.. no swipes, abrasions or damage of that sort. Listing pic 1 is a cell phone shot taken with flash, the others scans.
Shipping: Choice of well packed photo mailer or boxed Priority.
