Sixth-plate daguerreotype of a pretty woman wearing a large cameo brooch, holding a sleeping (or dead?) baby across her lap. Note that the baby is only wearing one shoe. Next to the woman part of a chair or sofa can be seen.
This daguerreotype is in excellent antique condition with tarnish ring. It has been resealed with archival tape, and it looks like most or all of the original seals are still in the case behind the dag. The case is complete, though separated along the spine. The bottom rail on the dag side is separating along the bottom-left corner but is still pretty secure.
