Original 1850s, quarter-plate thermoplastic case. Inside, behind the original mat and glass, is a print of a very pretty 1840s, 1850s woman.
Please note that the image of the woman appears to be a vintage print, probably a professional one, but it appears to be vintage, not antique. It's not a daguerreotype, ambrotype or tintype. ..... I figure somebody brought the original daguerreotype to a professional studio, possibly to have it restored, tinted and made into this nice print, which they then placed into this case.
The case itself is original, 1850s and is in very good antique condition, complete with a functional clasp. It once held an ambrotype because the inside paper is painted black. There are a few chips around the corners and edges.
Boxed shipping, choice of First Class or Priority Mail.
