Quarter-plate daguerreotype of a Quaker woman. She is not identified, but it was purchased in part of a small collection of photos that included an 1860s CDV of Gurney by McAllister of Philadelphia (which I think I still have in inventory somewhere)... it has me wondering if this could be a rare dag of Gurney as well... though because there is no ID, I make no claims of a positive identification.
It comes in a full case with a taped spine. The daguerreotype is unsealed, but somebody has held the plate in place with two short pieces of masking tape.. looks easily removable. Plate has a tarnish ring, a couple of small mat abrasions, and a light scratch v-shaped scratch touching her wrap in the lower-right 1/4 of the image.
