Original quarter-plate ambrotype in pebbled leather push-button case. Case has some wear but is intact. Clear glass ambrotype with a piece of black original fabric very lightly stuck (not glued) to the back. The fabric looks like it can easily be pulled off, if wanted, but I left it as is. I cleaned the cover glass but did not try to clean the front of the image. No flaking or deterioration noted.
I have provided pictures taken with my cell phone, using flash to reduce reflections and show detail. Happy to answer questions.
