1/4 ambrotype of a little boy with long curls standing with his thumb hooked in his waistband, next to a table with his hat on it. The tablecloth and possibly his shirt still have some original light tinting to them. Mat is stamped "Ambrotype by Campbell", which was the pioneering photographer Hamilton Campbell, who at this time was an itinerant photographer working around Corvallis, Oregon. In the early-1860s he was in San Francisco.
This is a Cutting's patent ambrotype behind its original mat, in half of a case. The ambrotype is in overall very good antique condition.. there are some common Cutting's patent occlusions, but to me they are mostly visible when viewing this image at an angle and do not detract from the image when viewed straight on. If you have any questions about condition, just send me a message.
