Original tintype of Walter Ellis Bennet (1850-1908) working on some type of machine. In the 1880 Connecticut census his occupation was listed as "Machinist". Confidence of the ID is 100%, based on other ID'd photos in the album.

Looking up his death certificate, it shows that Bennet died of pneumonia some days after a self-inflicted slash to his throat.

Note that he is only identified on the album page WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED. This is for the TINTYPE ONLY.

Tintype is about 3.25" x 2.25" with some bends, including a vertical one with associated emulsion loss.
