Civil War General U.S. Grant wearing a black crepe mourning band on his arm in honor of President Abraham Lincoln after he was assassinated. The photograph was taken in April 1865.
Original CDV, 4" x 2.5". There is a diagonal indentation on the back (not a crease) that is very lightly visible on the front at certain angles. Otherwise VG antique condition. Great contrast.
