Original daguerreotype, well dressed man with a goatee.
Housed in a nice intact 1/6 case, this oval dag is set into an unusual removable, velvet mat. The dag, including the gold frame, is 2.75" x about 2.25". It's behind glass and is in very good condition. Underside of the glass is a little dirty. There is also a tarnish ring, a few tiny mold spiders, speck of corrosion on his jacket and possibly a tiny mat abrasion in the lower right, but I think it's most likely a small scratch or chip on the glass.. whatever the case it's very minor.
