Original 1/4 plate daguerreotype in half a case, young woman and daughter, or possibly her younger sister, wearing matching dresses and holding hands. The older girl is seated, and her arm is around the waist of the younger girl. Both girls have lightly tinted cheeks; older girl is wearing painted gold earrings, and a painted gold embellishment on her necklace, younger is wearing a tinted or painted red coral necklace.
Dag is in half of its original case and is in excellent antique condition with light tarnish. One possible tiny mat abrasion in the right cutout near the mat, but I'm not 100% positive.. could be fuzz... might also be an original abrasion, always there, because the original seals appear to be in place, never having been removed... I lifted one edge and they appear slightly splitting but mainly intact.
I know I still have the original cover somewhere. I will do my best to find it and include it if I can, but I cannot guarantee that it will be included!
