Original 1850s half-plate daguerreotype of a little boy and girl with beautiful original hand-tinting. Behind a heavy double mat and cover glass in a pebbled leather push-button case that is about 6" x 4.5" when closed.
There is an ID written in the case for a baby named William Sheldon Boardman, who was born and died in 1863. Obviously not one of these children but very possibly a relative.
The dag is in very good or excellent antique condition with original seals. The case has light wear to the leather but is in very good condition. The push button clasp functions normally.
