Original and pretty rare cabinet card photo of Major Ebenezer Ball, a direct descendant of George Washington. Ball was born in 1816-17, this photo was taken circa 1895, and he died in 1900. He served as a Major in the Indian Wars of Oregon.
On the back is an original pen inscription and signature made by Bill. Somebody came along later with a ballpoint pen and wrote WWI, but that is wrong.
Photographer was Bishop & Meyer, Washington, DC.
