Original CDV of the prominent Philadelphia photographer William Herman Rau, probably taken by his wife Louisa, who was also a photographer. Rau had a studio in Philadelphia, on Grand Avenue. His was Louise was also the daughter of the noted photographer William Bell, whose studio was also in Philadelphia. Rau would eventually purchase Bell's studio.
CDV is 4" x 2.5" and in VG antique condition, with light soiling and/or foxing.
