Original 1860s CDV of George William Curtis (1824-1892) Curtis was an anti slavery advocate and supporter of civil rights for African American and indigenous people. He was the brother in law of Robert Gould Shaw of the famous 54th Massachusetts
Volunteer Infantry. Curtis was also the editor of Harper's Weekly and one of the founders of the Republican Party.
