4" x 2.5"
Bio, found online:
Lawyer, Mexican War hero and politician, Rousseau raised the 3rd Kentucky Infantry and led a brigade at Shiloh before two quick promotions bestowed Major General`s rank and the command of a division in the Army of the Cumberland. Rousseau fought with distinction at Perryville, StonesÂ’ River, and during the Tullahoma campaign, but was then posted to the command of the District of Nashville, later expanded to include all of Tennessee. Rousseau resigned from the army in 1865 to resume his congressional career and became a vocal advocate of President JohnsonÂ’s reconstruction policy. He is perhaps as well known for canning Radical Josiah B. Grinnell of Iowa and for leading the delegation that formally took possession of the Alaska Territory from the Czar.
