Circa 1854-1855 6th plate daguerreotype - group of eight people,
a man surrounded by seven women. the backstory is not known, but it has been
suggested this is an early example of plural marriages in Mormonism, which
according to Wikipedia was practiced publicly since the early-1850s. Of
course there could be other explanations... teacher and students, family members...
The dag is no longer sealed, but besides a tarnish ring and tiny molder spider
or two, it's in excellent antique condition. ** In my cell phone pics you
might notice a piece of fuzz on the glass on the left side.... it's not a
scratch. Dag comes in a full case with separated covers and an eagle design
on the pad.
