Very nice, original antique picture frame, with glass. It's silver in color, but I'm not sure of the metal.. silver plate, or pewter?
This came out of an old estate of a United States ambassador and was purchased along with many family photos, nearly all which dated to the 1850s to the 1890s, so I believe this frame dates to that period as well. If it's any newer than that, if wouldn't be much, and would almost certainly still qualify as antique.
The frame is 5.75" wide by 5.75" tall. The round window opening is about 2 3/4" across. Overall this piece is in very good antique condition. It's complete, though please note that the stand on the back, while still attached by a piece of fabric, has separated along the top edge and would need repair before using this as a tabletop display.
