Grouping of three original 1860s CDVs photos of the same man, the first, by Fredricks, shows him posing with his "twin" - actually a double exposure trick photo - his seated self at the table holding a small patent model of a mower... I believe it is probably the D.M. Osborne Co. Columbia Mower model. And notice the two pieces of artwork affixed to the side of the chair.. they are actually enlargements of the two caricature / cartoon CDVs of the same man riding the mower. All three CDVs are included in this listing.
Not sure who the man is, but very possibly John Butler, a designer / inventor who was employed by the D.M. Osborne Co. at this time and who held several farming equipment patents.
CDVs are about 4" x 2.5" and in overall good or very good antique condition, with mostly minor condition issues that my scans should show. Definitely an interesting and rare set of farming / invention / agriculture images.
