Sixth-plate daguerreotype in full case: young married woman holding small book, her elbow resting on the table next to her, painted gold ring on one finger. The mat is stamped S. BROADBENT in the lower-left corner.

Inside is some writing *** ENHANCED for this listing *** that identifies her as (I think) Mrs. D.R. Baldwin, Cornwall (?), July 6th, 1850, plus some additional writing.

Broadbent operated out of many cities up until about 1851 when he opened shop in Philadelphia, but in 1848-1849 he was listed in Hartford, Connecticut, and there is a town Connecticut called Cornwall.

Dag is still sealed, so the underside of the glass is very dirty and foggy, but I see no damage whatsoever. There is a tarnish ring. Case is complete with a  nicely repaired spine.
