Original 1/6 ambrotype of a very young Confederate, with tinted blue jacket and gold buttons. He is identified as (H.G.?) Sandifer.

The ID is visible but kind of hard to read.. however, I'm positive the surname is Sandifer, because at one time I owned other ID'd images of this family, including later (1870s) tintypes of Henry Green Sandifer Sr. (born September 1846 in Kentucky, died in 1912).....

It's very possible that this boy IS H.G. Sandifer, Sr. ..... or at the very least related to him. In the pictures I have seen of Sandifer as an adult there is a strong resemblance to this boy in my opinion. He would have been about 15 in this ambrotype, so it all fits. The family lived in Southern Kentucky and Northern Tennessee around the time of the war.

Ambrotype is in very good antique condition behind mat and cover glass, in full case. Couple of minor issues, and the underside of the glass looks like it could use a cleaning. Case is worn with separated covers and a missing rail. Please study pics for full condition details or message me if you have any questions.
